TRAVEL & DESTINATION MARKETING CONTENT CREATION
ROLE
Content Writer
Brief
Unlike City Guides were the definitive resource for exploring the most exciting cities in the world. As an app and a website, the content platforms needed contributors with inside knowledge of places and spaces beyond the usual mainstream shortlists to create a unique travel guide for millenials.
I was a freelance content writer and photographer for them when I lived in Amsterdam from 2007-2012, writing about inspiring and unknown places around the city.
Approach
- Identified small businesses making a buzz with locals and expats in Amsterdam
- Visited sites, interviewed owners/managers and obtained photos
- Wrote and edited articles and descriptions
Output
- Travel and culture “insider” descriptions of cafes, resturants, shops and hotels in Amsterdam to help tourists navigate underground and hip destinations
